Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How strong is the smell of this product? I’m looking to get rid of the “dirty dog” smell.

Answer: Great question. If you smell the Waterless Shampoo right out of the bottle, it will smell strong and also while it is still wet when first applied. However, after spraying on the dog, once you let it air dry completely the smell mellows and it will not be strong at all. It will be very pleasant. Also, this does not mask smell. The product actually deodorizes. Similar to the way baking soda would deodorize. I think you will be quite pleased with the results. I use it on my own 2 dogs frequently and it’s amazing. If not completely satisfied, you can return it for a full refund. This is currently the #1 New Release in the Dog Shampoo category on all of Amazon. Follow the directions. After spraying on liberally, run your fingers through your dogs coat to evenly apply and to get into the undercoat. If you prefer to use a brush, you can do that as well. I prefer using my fingers as it leaves my dogs coat with a more natural wave. My dogs are however longer haired dogs. For shorter coats a brush would work well.

Question: When purchasing the gallon size do you use it at full strength or is there a dilution ratio like most professional shampoos?

Answer: Most professional shampoos offer a concentrated version for groomers to be diluted. This would be our ultra-concentrated shampoo. However specialty shampoos like whitening and brightening shampoos are typically meant to be used at full strength. Same with ours. Our ultra-concentrated is a 30:1 dilution ratio. Not the brightening. You will see if you try our brightening shampoo at it’s recommended full strength that it gives some of the best results available on the market.

Question: How often can you use the breath spray?

Answer: Simply spray directly into your dog’s mouth 4 times daily on sides and around teeth without the hassle of a toothbrush. Supports healthy dental hygiene and reduces the risk of gum disease. Safe for dogs, cats and most pets.

Question: When is the best time to use the Leave-in Conditioner/Detangler?

Answer: Spray directly on to coat after shampooing and while coat is still wet and leave it in to moisturize your pet’s skin. Best to towel dry slightly after shampooing, just before applying Leave In Conditioner.  Balanced to be gentle enough for puppies and effective enough to get rid of mature dog tangles. Shake well before using. Spray generously onto your pet’s coat, and then use a comb, your fingers, or a loose brush or pick to gently incorporate and undo tangles. For best results use after shampooing.

Question: Does the Waterless Shampoo provide a real clean look and feel on the dog’s coat?

Answer: Lillian Ruff Waterless Shampoo will allow you to bathe your dog less, while still keeping them smelling fresh in between. They will love it as you rub it through their fur. Other dogs love bath time, but it is not always convenient to bathe them nor is it healthy for their skin to over bathe them. Lillian Ruff waterless shampoo will help you bridge that gap.

Question: How long should you leave the Brightening Conditioner on your dog’s coat to get the best results?

Wet pet’s coat completely with warm water. Dispense a generous amount of shampoo into the palm of hand and thoroughly massage into pet’s coat beginning at head and working back towards tail. Avoid getting into eyes. For optimal results, after fully lathering your dog, leave on coat for 3-5 minutes before rinsing out. The longer you leave on before rinsing, the better the results! Rinse completely. Repeat as necessary.
