Though they have short hair, Beagles are double-coated. Their dense, soft undercoat provides warmth, while their coarse outer coat protects them from weather conditions. Beagles will experience moderate, year-round shedding, as well as “blowing coat” seasons, during which they shed heavily to restructure their coats to accommodate weather changes. Weekly brushing is recommended to manage their loose fur, and we also provide a de-shedding dog shampoo to help maintain their coat.
